Gain Fundamental Knowledge of Sustainability Across the Battery Value Chain

Sustainability is a key objective in battery cell research and development. While batteries are a crucial enabling technology for the energy and mobility transition, there is still significant potential for improvement in terms of life cycle impact and energy efficiency.
But what determines whether a battery is truly sustainable? And how can these potentials be fully realized?

Course Summary

Learn how to assess the environmental impact of batteries using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and understand the role of the circular economy in battery production and use.

Secure your spot today to expand your knowledge of the battery industry and prepare for the sustainability challenges of the future.

Benedikt Gruber

My name is Benedikt Gruber, and I work as a research associate at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB, in the Sustainability Management group. My work focuses on both the evaluation and implementation of Re-X strategies, with a particular emphasis on direct recycling, and the analysis of material flows along value chains in the context of battery cell production. In addition to the technological aspects of the production process, the ecological sustainability perspective is highly relevant—where tools such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) play a crucial role.
