Introduction battery system

In electronic applications that require a lot of energy, a single battery cell is often insufficient. To meet the high energy demands of the automotive industry and stationary storage systems, high-performance battery packs are used. These packs are assembled using the matryoshka principle: Battery cells are grouped into modules, which are then combined into packs that are installed in electric vehicles. This module will teach you about the components of battery modules and packs, as well as what to consider when developing a battery system.

Discover the basics of battery systems in this specialised training module.

We will examine the production process of battery modules and battery packs in depth, as well as take a detailed look at the components of battery systems, such as the battery management system (BMS). We will also take an in-depth look at the safety components in battery systems, such as cooling options and propagation protection. Learn more about the safe handling, dismantling and storage of battery modules so that beginners can also minimise potential risks and maximise the service life of their battery systems. Register now and take part in this engaging training module to deepen your understanding of battery systems.

After participating...

...you will know how a classic battery system is constructed and what the corresponding components are called and how they basically work.

...you will be able to evaluate battery systems on the basis of safety criteria.

...know the fields of application of battery systems and the associated peripherals.

TRAINERS

Maximilian Neuner - IGCV

I am currently employed as a research assistant at Fraunhofer IGCV in Augsburg. In the "Interlinked Manufacturing Processes for Battery Cells" group, my primary responsibilities include overseeing the mixing and coating aspects related to the production of electrodes. Additionally, I am involved in the development of our cell assembly systems and laser applications. Through these responsibilities, I have gained significant experience in battery system manufacturing, from raw materials to pack assembly. I am excited to apply and share my knowledge in the "Introduction to Battery Systems" training course.
